Set up in 1969 Indus was the first company to introduce automotive A/C systems in India. Though functioning primarily as a distributor in the early years, the company set up its first manufacturing facility at Khopoli near Mumbai in 1989 for the manufacture of auto A/C systems and heat exchangers. And since then there has been no looking back.

In 1994 Indus became OE supplier to Carrier Aircon India. By 1996 the company had built up the capacity to manufacture 200,000 heat exchangers a year and became an OE supplier for two of the leading automotive majors in India. The next few years were witness to a period of rapid growth for the company; the high quality of Indus products led to them being chosen by some of the leading OEM’s worldwide in HVAC systems especially for off road mobile applications.

2003 was a pivotal year for the company with the commissioning of a second manufacturing facility in Dubai and the launch of the revolutionary Tsunami Fin design. A product of the company’s own R&D, the design has been tested to deliver 8 to 12 % more heat transfer capacity than regular corrugated fins. The design also eliminated the problem of clogging and dirt chafing that reduce performance in other fin surfaces over time.

The next few years saw Indus growing to ever greater heights with the expansion of the Dubai and Mumbai facility and the addition of a number of prestigious clients to the company’s roster including several Fortune 500 corporations. In 2008 – 2009 the company made another leap into the future with the launch of their Green Fin pattern, a significant development in fin geometries. The Green Fin pattern reduces the amount of refrigerant needed & results in substantial reduction in the use of copper thus reducing CO2 emissions & carbon footprint. This is a major innovation by the company and is sure to further boost their international stature and help them to achieve their vision of becoming one of the premier heat transfer solution companies in the world.
