There are no short cuts to doing quality work. It’s a comprehensive process and a way of life at Indus. And with reliability being the most important attribute of any engineering product, quality control is one of the most important and rigorously carried out aspect of our operations, from employee training, raw material and component sourcing to manufacturing and post delivery product maintenance.

All our plants are ISO 9001 – 2000, ISO 14001 and 18001 certified and TS16949 compliant. All our products are UL – 207 certified.

A high bar for quality is set from the design stage itself with emphasis on minimizing errors during the fabrication stage by employing various techniques and tools including

  • Error proofing
  • Process Flow Diagrams
  • DFMEA

All our vendors and suppliers are regularly audited and graded for their quality and OTD performance and a comprehensive system is in place to check the quality of all incoming shipments. A constant running PPAP ensures the reliability of the component parts.

The fabrication stage is monitored with proven quality monitoring systems and tools like.

  • Gage R&R studies
  • Measuring PPM levels
  • Ongoing SPC

Jigs and Fixtures are a standard part of our fabrication process. Hundreds of these are utilized at every stage to ensure 100% conformity of every component with zero tolerance towards defect.

Taken together these form a comprehensive system that completely minimizes errors.

At Indus we are fully committed to continuous process improvement. Towards this end, a specially created team runs constant programs such as

  • Kaizen
  • Toyota's 5 S,

These act as a systematic process of reducing waste, increasing conformity and generally improving process quality.

Employees and training:
With such a sophisticated quality control program as ours, proper employee training and motivation is a must. Towards this end we have created a Skill Matrix based training and assessment program. Upon joining, an employee’s skills are assessed and on the basis of performance their matrix position is assigned. A personalized training schedule is then created for them in addition to regular training programs. All employees are regularly assessed based on which their matrix positions are updated. The program leads to constant improvement in overall skill levels and motivation, ensuring that the employees are fully involved in the quality control program. At Indus we always encourage our employees to undergo Cross Functional Training (CFT) to help them enhance skills.

Complaints:
The Quality Assurance department stays in regular touch with the customer to be aware of any problems that emerge and get feedback on performance of products. In case of any problems we are committed to reverting to all complaints within 48 hours, where the immediate issue is tackled. Embracing a philosophy of Root Cause Analysis we strive to address every issue from its core. Towards this end we utilize 8-D problem solving methodology - a proven system, frequently employed in the automotive industry - to create a comprehensive prevention plan which is presented to the client within 2 weeks, to prevent similar problems from arising in the future.
